5th Anniversary Party

POSTED: October 01, 2002

On the evening of September 20th, City Square celebrated five years of Humanism, Intuition and Imagination at the Commandant’s House in the Charlestown Navy Yard. Formerly a privately owned mansion, the House is known to have hosted numerous dignitaries including two 19th Century Presidents. It also proved to be the perfect setting for the intimate gathering of friends, family and former colleagues. City Square Associates began five years ago in Charlestown, and this neighborhood continues to be the place Founder-President Chris Schiavone calls home.

Surprisingly, we were fortunate to have the New England weather cooperate with us, which allowed for a cocktail hour on the lovely porch providing a view of the Boston Skyline. The sit-down dinner, catered by Garden of Eden of Boston’s South End, commenced following a wonderful toast given by Nick Schiavone. Being not only a family member but also one of Chris' colleagues, Nick was the perfect person to bestow the first round of well wishing.

Chris, who made the first cut into the impressive cake from Flour Bakery, wrapped up the dinner hour with some inspirational words detailing his ideals and dreams for City Square Associates and the role that all those present played in helping to make those a reality.

Celebrating Five Years

POSTED: August 12, 2002

On July 23, 2002, City Square Associates celebrated five years in business. Chris Schiavone established the business as a sole proprietorship on that date from a spare room at his home. For the full story on the history of CSA, go to the history section of our site. Meanwhile, we thank our clients and suppliers past and present for their loyalty and friendship.

Promotions Recognize Achievement

POSTED: August 12, 2002

Karen Barone, formerly Project Manager at City Square Associates, has been promoted to the position of Research Director. Mandi Logan, formerly Research Associate, has been promoted to the position of Research Manager. These promotions honor the hard work and professional growth of both Mandi and Karen, but they also have implications for our clients.

In her new position as Research Director, Karen will be available for an increasing quantity of field work as a moderator and in-depth interviewer. She will also be assuming greater responsibility for data analysis and research design in addition to the project management work she has done so effectively since arriving last year. Karen will be enriching her moderating skills at RIVA in DC later this summer.

In her position as Research Manager, Mandi will be assuming greater responsibility for overall project management on both ad hoc projects and our large ongoing studies. Mandi has developed a specialization in screener development, recruiting, and field facilities management which should be especially valuable to our qualitative clients. Mandi plans to participate in a continuing education program on brand marketing this fall.
